Gotham in arrivo su FOX

A quanto pare è in arrivo una nuova serie tv a tema fumettistico, Gotham, un procedurale con protagonista James Gordon da giovane.
La cosa curiosa è che non andrà in onda su CW, il canale della Warner, che è proprietaria anche della DC comics, ma alla Fox. Produttore esecutivo ed autore sarà Bruno Heller, creatore di The Mentalist e Rome, mentre niente si sa ancora del cast coinvolto.

Non è proprio la serie di Gotham Central che tutti volevamo, e se non la volevate siete persone brutte, ma sempre meglio di niente

Quando qualche genitore incosciente mi lascia in compagnia dei bambini per un po', se loro mi chiedono di raccontargli una storia, essendo un po' allergico alle favole, gli racconto sempre vecchi film e uno dei miei cavalli di battaglia è proprio Il Pianeta delle Scimmie.

Vabbuò, triste parentesi personale a parte, lo sapete tutti di che parla, no? Sarà più vecchio di vostro padre questo film! Fosse solo per il musical di Troy McClure nei Simpson! Ciartonesto è un astronauta la cui navicella si schianta su un pianeta misterioso dove il ruolo di esseri umani e scimmie è invertito: gli uomini sono regrediti ad uno stato animalesco, non parlano, vivono nelle foreste e campano così, le scimmie invece hanno formato una vera e propria civiltà organizzata in caste molto rigide, coi gorilla classe militare, scimpanzé scienziati ed oranghi a formare la classe politica. Segue un'ora e mezza di intrallazzi e damn dirty apes finchè alla fine il nostro Ciartonesto va in giro per la spiaggia a cavallo di un caval e scopre le rovine della statua della libertà e You maniac! You blow it up! God damn you, God damn you all to hell!

Il film ha avuto 4 seguiti che han fatto fare a umani e scimmie avanti e indietro nel tempo, un terribile remake di Tim Burton, un completo reboot qualche anno fa con Rise of the Planet of the Apes, e dato vita a telefilm, serie animate, libri e fumetti, che alla fin fine è quello che interessa a noi. Prima fu la Marvel, negli anni '70, con gli adattamenti dei film e diverse storie originali, i diritti del franchise in tempi recenti sono passati a BOOM! Studios che ha pubblicato 3 miniserie, Betrayal, Exile e, appunto, Cataclysm.

Il fumetto è ambientato 8 anni prima che la navicella di Ciartonesto atterri sul pianeta e il cataclisma del titolo è di quelli grossi, perché... scoppia la Luna. Si, così, na sera, sotto a na pianta di banane un giovane gibbone cerca di quagliare con la scimpanzella cui sta dietro da un mare di tempo, stanno là, look at me, now look at the moon, now back at me, now back at the moo...BOOM! Ciaociao Luna e ciaociao speranze di quagliare, piccolo gibbone, perché tra una pioggia di meteore e un'inondazione, dove pucciare la banana diventa l'ultimo dei tuoi problemi

Cataclysm è scritto in tandem da Corinna Becko e Gabriel Hardman (che fa anche da copertinista), ed è scritto bene. I due prima di tutto sono dei fan, non solo hanno fatto i compiti a casa e studiato il materiale di partenza, sembra proprio che questa roba gli piaccia davvero! Tra le pagine ci ritroviamo tutti i personaggi che ci aspetteremmo, Zira, Cornelius, il Dr. Zaius, Milo, mutanti e compagnia, ma quel che è più interessante un aggiornamento di tutti i temi classici della saga, prima di tutto il difficile cammino parallelo di fede e scienza (Zaius era già stronzo) e l'intolleranza delle scimmie più giovani nel sistema di caste che li vede incanalati solo per motivi potremmo dire razziali in ruoli che possono non sentire propri. Il tutto è condito da una certa abilità nel gestire i dialoghi, che scorrono con naturalezza e anche nei momeenti di tensione più alta nnon risultano forzati.

Non è proprio tutto tutto oro c'è da dire, ma quando i due scrittori mancano il bersaglio è perché vogliono un po' strafare, rincorrono la storia dei film quando non ce n'è bisogno, e questa tendenza scoppia nell'ultimo numero, che è un riassuntone della trama dei film di cui, serenamente, avremmo fatto a meno. Si saranno fatte sicuramente sentire delle pressioni esterne, ed è un peccato

La componente artistica è di ottimo livello. I disegni di Damian Cuoceiro sono belli ed espressivi, le scimmie si assomigliano un po' tutte ma alla fine che ci puoi fa, so scimmie! Il salto di qualità lo permettono però i colori di Darrin Moore, che ha cercato di replicare le tinte e i toni della serie cinematografice, ci è riuscito, e così grazie a lui questo fumetto ha un'impronta caratteristica e immediata riconscibilità. E mica è cosa da tutti.  

Nella scala delle tue scimmie preferite (non so perchè qualcuno dovrebbe avere una scala delle sue scimmie preferite, ma facciamo finta abbia senso sta cosa, non mi rompete il giocattolo), che va dallo scimpanzé alla scimmia cappuccino (scusa, Ampersand, ma fai parte di una razza odiosa...), Planet of the Apes: Cataclysm è un babbuino, figo, fiero, incazzoso, guerriero... se vuoi prprio trovà il pelo nell'uovo, della serie c'è sempre qualcosa dietro, dietro c'ha il culo che è ridicolo, però la maggior parte del tempo sta seduto quindi non si vede e non rovina l'immagine più di tanto

Ci sta Pandora, quella tizia con la tunica rosa che è da due anni, da quando c'è stato il reboot insomma, che ogni tanto ciccia fuori da qualche vignetta di un fumetto DC a random a fare le cospirazioni cospirazionistiche, e esce fuori che sta Pandora è proprio Pandora Pandora!

No, non intendo di cognome come Candy Candy, Pandora Pandora nel senso quella del vaso, quella che ha liberato i sette peccati capitali! Si da il caso che nell'universo DC sia stata obbligata da un pantheon di divinità delle divinità a vagare per l'eternità sulla Terra per vedere tutte le conseguenze del suo gesto, e lei dopo svariate migliaia di anni decida che non ci sta, vuole rimettere i peccati capitali nel loro vasetto e per fare questo tirerà giù un casino della miseria che porterà a mazzate incrociate tra Justice League (Il team ufficiale, Superman, Batman, Flash e compagni), Justice League of America (team governativo con Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Catwoman ed altri) e Justice League Dark (Constantine, Frankenstein, Deadman, Madame Xanadu... Tutta gente che abbia qualche legame con l'occulto e la magia)

Ed è tutto qua, è veramente, drammaticamente, tutto qua... Il vaso corrompe uno che si ribella contro gli altri che però poi quell'altro viene controllato mentalmente e allora tiriamo le mazzate a lui, no però io non so d'accordo con te dopo quando ci vediamo nel prossimo numero ti picchio... e quel che è peggio alla fine tutto sto casino non è servito a niente, era solo uno startup per l'evento successivo, Forever Evil, Forever Evil di cui il primo numero è già uscito e mi è piaciuto parecchio ma ciò non toglie che questo Trinity War sia una roba indegna, inconcludente, il vuoto pneumatico ricoperto di tutine aderenti e laseroni, il classico esempio di come NON dovrebbe mai essere fatto un fumetto di supereroi. 

Forse proprio perché viene dalla penna di Geoff Johns, che ha dimostrato negli anni scorsi di saperci fare più e più volte col supereroismo classico,  brucia ancora di più
